Qld couple review after a 3 night stay.
The location of this hotel is great. It is a short walk away from Central station, supermarkets, pubs, the Capitol Theatre and Paddy's Market. Staff are helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious but the bathroom proved to be an interesting challenge. The toilet could only be used when sitting at an angle and the ceiling height above the bath was limited.
There was noise evident from some renovation or repair work in the next room. No explanation was given.
Pick-up or drop-off by vehicle is hit and miss as there is very limited road access to the entry.
Overall, if these minor issues aren't a deterrent, The Metro is good value for a short break in Sydney.

Enjoyable
The was good for what I needed, the bed and pillows were comphy , I really liked the idea how it has shower despences. Great location and central to every thing I will be staying again for sure, thank you to the staff for making me feel so welcome.

Hotel is very conveniently located but needs...
Hotel is very conveniently located but needs serious refurbishment. Would classify it as a backpackers hotel. With work done it could be upgraded to a simple business class hotel.

We stayed there for 3 days. Some...
We stayed there for 3 days. Some staff are nice but some seems not enjoyed their job. The hot water is not stable. But the room is quite big and clean. The location is very good and near China town and Darling Harbour.

Very enjoyable stay. Good location for getting around the city, and the railway station. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Reception staff very helpful.

My husband and I really enjoyed our...
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Metro Sydney Central Hotel as it was close to the central train station and shopping. The only problem was the issuing of two cards in a small folder but the lack of explanation relating to its use in the lift and the room. Otherwise overall we enjoyed our stay here. Thank you.

The standard room was basic with a...
The standard room was basic with a very bland interior. The view outside the window was of a cement wall of the building next door which meant there wasn't much natural light. The amenities (soaps etc) they provide come in pumps not bottles. There was a huge crack in the shower screen and a problem with the plumbing in the toilet. I felt that this room and the furniture and carpet in it was old and getting dated, the nicely renovated lobby and restaurant can fool you though. The access key cards sometimes worked, sometimes they took a few tries to work. The location is very good, the hotel is inbetween Chinatown (shopping and lots of places to eat) and the main shopping district (QVB, Pitt Street Mall). This is a middle class hotel, not budget but not luxury either. It is okay for a short stay if you don't plan to spend much time in the room.
