I enjoyed my stay very much. Grounds are beautiful and facility is very well maintained. Having the breakfast included made it very affordable. We ate at two of the restaurants and encountered problems with English translation. Service was very efficient and friendly.

This is a resort hotel and unless you have a car you are a captive market. Overall a really good place to kick back after the sightseeing on the mainland. There is a regular coach transport to and from the airport. You can sign room charge bills for everything and settle by credit card at checkout. Restaurants are very good.

The hotel was maybe build in the early 70'ies and not much has changed since then. So if you like that retro style this is definitely the place to be.
The rooms and the balcony was large for Japanese standards, everything was clean and in good shape.
The beach is not the biggest one I have ever seen but it is great for one or two days.
Do note that the language capabilities of the staff were limited for a hotel of this class and even for Japan in general.
The food was good, maybe a little bit on the Japanese side for the western traveller

All the resort hotel staff were very friendly, polite, helpful and efficient. Our room-rate was good for our short stay but where it got expensive was the cost of dining at the hotel restaurants, and the added rental fees for sports equipment and use of the gym. It would have been nice, as a hotel guest, to have unlimited free access to the gym as is the case with many hotels in North America and Asia. Moon Beach Resort continues to issue actual room keys which we found bulky to carry around. It would have been handier to have the use of an electronic swipe-card, and to provide enough room keys for the number of adults sharing the room. Communication in English in Okinawa is very limited, so it would be helpful to have a few staff trained in speaking English for the non-Japanese visitors.

The Moonbeach has potential but it is old, out dated and lacking in many ways. The beach is lovely and the swimming pool is large and pleasant. Our room for a family of four was clean and quite large. It acccommodated all of us quite comfortably. However, we were "turned off" about using any of the other facilities that the hotel had to offer because everything had an additional fee. One can usually expect to be able to use the exercise equipment or the public bath free of charge, but not at the Moonbeach. We had to pay to use a beach chair and umbrella as well as a beach towel. As a guest staying at the hotel, we feel these things should be included. It's understandable to charge for sporting equipment but the use of a chair on their private beach seemed outrageous. The service was fine and the free use of the computer was a bonus. The food in the restaurants was good but it is very expensive. It just added to our feeling of being ripped off every time you turned around. In the end we spent much more than we had anticipated and therefor will probably not return.
