Birdsong and comfort
My wife and I were on our honeymoon. The room wasa ready at 2pm. It was scrupulously clean, (after I had required it on reservation with Asiarooms after reading adverse reviews of other hotels with cigarette smoke and butts on check-in). We only stayed one night of the 3 booked due to unexpected news, but AsiaRooms ensured we paid no more than the one night. The special glory of the hotel is the birdsong from about 9 or so birds in cages on the walls around the atrium of the hotel. Private owners bring them to the hotel in the morning for a cooler air-conditioned change and take them back in the afternoon. The birds seem to inspire each other in lyrical song that echoes around the atrium in a delightful but unobtrusive way.

Club lounge little value
This is a stunning hotel in a great location. Club room was vey disappointing considering the cost. Breakfast was buffet only and most food was cold no ala carte option and some customers were using standard restaurant. Evening cocktails were too early between 17.30-19.30 limited choice and waiter service some times having to wait 10-15 minutes for drinks that seemed to skimp on alcohol. When a beer small can and piña colada costs £30 (yes £30) in bar free cocktails were a disappointment. Sound proofing poor singer in bar sounded like a poor club singer in room til after midnight and lots of road noise! Very handy for MRT. Pool ok but no wow! Staff were great David concierge in club room was very attentive. Would be great for GP as within track & would have view from club room lounge. I have stayed at better club rooms.

Not sleep friendly
Although the rooms were in most respects nice I found the open-area lounge just below my room to be quite annoying as the piano player and singers were not very good and they played until 11 or 1 every night. It forced everyone to be at the lounge whether you wanted to or not.
And for as much as it costs there should be free cabled internet. They might comp you the costs but you always had to sign up as if it would charge you.

Best So Far
I have stayed in various hotels in Singapore over the last 12 months and this to date was by far the best allreound experiance. Room and Service were to a very high but friendly standard. Location for both business and pleasure great. I will certainly look to stay again on my next trip.

very nice reception, lobby and interior, but less friendly
We stayed there because of recommendation of a business friend, the lobby i the 1st floor and reception in the second floor are amazing, but as soon as it came to the friendliness of the front desk, the total score became less, ...we mean, not friendly in the way of giving a smile, but the service is not as nice as the appearance of the hotel.
Some keys ( magnet cards) didn't work, we wasted much time going up and down asking the front desk to re-programm, it also happened to our business friend who booked another room at MM, they can not fulfil a simple request eventhough we ordered it early enough for our next stay in January 2012 !! Is the service different ,because we didn't book directly but through asiarooms ?

The service at the front desk is enough to put you off staying there... Having arrived at 3pm for a wedding at 5pm I was told that I would have to wait an hour for my room... If this is the case a hotel should warn you in advance. After an uncomfortable conversation with the front desk manager, at which voices had to be raised and a 20 minute wait, a room magically appeared. An annoying start to my stay and unnecessarily stressful.
