Not Bad
I had book for HD Palace when i saw the pictures provided at Asiarooms. Interior was exactly the same as shown but the view of 101 can only be seen when you go near the window because 101 is not directly at the view of your room. Its 45 degree away from the room view but it will be clearly seen when you are in the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, one will definitely pull down the window roller to avoid people seeing you from the residential block opposite the hotel. Interior of the hotel 7/10. So its useless but view was still acceptable.
Breakfast provided but selection are quite limited. If you are staying at HD palace for 2 nights, i think you can still endure with the breakfast selection. For myself, i'm here for 6 nights and therefore find the breakfast bored after the third day. You can ask the staff there to fry you a sunshine egg and they will do it. Service at HD palace was definitely good but i think Taiwanese had a great hospitality wherever you go. The LIU ZHANG LI train station was about 10min walk away from the hotel so make traveling around easier. Ask the staff at the train station about Anhe Road, Sec 2 and they will guide you the way. It's very easy. Note: It's very hot during their summer, now at 36-38 degree celsius. It's not advisable to walk a lot. It will be good to avoid the summer. It's unlike Singapore, although it's hot but we had many trees around that perhaps made singaporean more comfortable.
For me, i will not be going back to HD Palace if i travel to Taipei again. Will like to try other hotels. If you are going to Taipei, try to visit Yilan and stay 2 for night. I booked a Mingsu by the name of HAO3 WANG4 JIAO3. Everything was fantastic, from the view, room and hospitality.
Imagine yourself soaking in the bathtub with terrific view of city, mountain, sky, stars and moon. The room cover with glass window and roof enable you to have great scenic view.
