My Recent Stay at the Royal Benja
I just returned from a wonderful stay in Bangkok where I stayed at the Royal Benja Hotel. I've stayed there many times on my trips to Bangkok and have gotten to know the hotel and some of its staff well. I like the location (within walking distance of the Nana skytrain station) and there are some very good restaurants and shopping nearby. I also like the views from the rooms on high floors. They are wonderful. I think the breakfast buffet is great, too. The only things I think need improvement are the hotel computers (which are antiquated and slow, and often don't work properly), and the fact that many on the staff (desk staff included) don't speak English well enough. I also find it offensive to have to pay 45 baht a minute for a local call. The cleaning staff is good and they try hard to please. I will surely stay at the Royal Benja again because I've gotten used to staying there over the years. But I certainly think there is room for improvement, especially now that it is rated 4 stars.

The location is awesome! Minutes walking from the Metro system and less than half an hour by car from the International Airport; unless there has been a major accident on either 7 or 9.
Three (3) minor problems:-
1. First the water for bathing or showering never got very hot
3. NO outlet for 110 volts
3. The bedside light console was not wired correctly

Very well priced and centrally located hotel, close to Nana train station. Pool was great to fall in to in the heat.

From an English point of view
It would be nice if the number of English TV channels could be increased to give a variation from BBC and CNN.
A few more english choices at breakfast would be nice.
Having said that the hotel is in a great location and we will stay there again when we return in November.

what a shame that the wifi is not free. Hotel is becoming old, the furniture are not modern but the breakfast is very good, a lot of choice.
