B1100 baht for a guest to visit my room??
I would never stay in this hotel again!
One night I invited a friend over to my hotel room just to catch up on stuff and to rest before heading out later in the evening.
I had to go downstairs to the lobby to bring my friend up to my room. That's acceptable practice. But when I tried to bring him up, I was told by front desk that because I was already staying in my room with another friend (he's booked in with me) that my friend could only stay in the room for 15 minutes. I was told that if my guest stayed any longer than that, that I would be charged B1100!
Whereupon the front office staff proceeded to fill out a bill for that amount and requested that I pay that amount before my guest would be allowed up to my room!!
I have NEVER in all my 51 years encountered such a policy, or such high-handed arrogance from any hotel staff! I have stayed in many, many hotels from 2 star to 6 star, and never have I been so embarrassed in my life!
I do understand certain hotels have policies that reserve the right to allow guests up to the rooms, but my guest was respectable, and properly dressed. All I had wanted to do was invite my guest up for a chat before heading out to dinner. Never have I been given a time limit - 15 minutes???? And never have I been asked to pay upfront!! Absolutely deplorable!
And there was no "service with a smile" from most of the staff at this hotel.
shocking, considering this is Thailand!
