The location of the White Orchid is...
The location of the White Orchid is good for anyone who want to be at China town. Hotel room size is ok. But it is old and the carpet is not very clean. The TV is too small and does not have good english programme. Hotel service overall is just so so.
The Hotel need to be renovated.

This was my first time staying @ yaowarat area @ White Orchid in Bangkok. I booked online for 'Deluxe' room from 26th Sept to 28th Sept and 'Junior Suite' from 28th Sept to 29th Sept to experience the difference in the rooms as it was quite affordable. The staff at the hotel overall was average in 'Service' . I had two bad encounter about their service during my stay. I went for the breakfast buffet in the morning as I been given free breakfast voucher which was included with the accomdation. My friends happened to join in for breakfast at a later time. Upon seeing them, I approached my friends and they join in with me for breakfast at the same table. The service staff came forward and ask which room I'm staying and mentioned that I didn't hand them the voucher. Unfortuately , I can't recall exactly the staff I hand the voucher. The whole group of the service staff began to check on the voucher they received and etc and each of them gave me a kind of look ... My friends and I check out late for 2 hrs and was being told to pay for half day room charges and despite trying explain to them that we being held up in the traffic jam, they not interested in it and insist on the charges. The hotel facilities overall was average. The hotel lift was slow and at times it just buzz off the alarm even the lift did not exceed the max of people. Think of it , have to wait at times up to 10 mins to take a lift. I understand that the hotel was rated 2 'stars' . I can't expect much if I choose to stay @ 2 'stars' hotel. Least the basic like 'service' should be in place.

Location is good. Exactly at ChinaTown , plenty of food & fruits , shops . Fried noodle(Char Hor Fun) turn left when you step out from lobby & near to road corner seafood stall , is very delicious (only available at night by a fat Chinese guy with few helpers). Breakfast is rather limited choice & same dishes daily, improvement needed. Over all, with this hotel rate and location, I will back again .

Room furnishings are very old and the fridge is not even working. Can’t even open the one and only window in the room.
It is located at the center of traffic jam but there are plenty of food stalls and restaurants. 7-11 and Watsons are just downstairs.
The ferry pier is approximately 10 mins away. If you managed to find it, you will certainly save a lot of money and time traveling up to Grand Palace, etc. The same applies to Hualamphong MRT station and it is also about 10 mins walk away.
Very disappointed. I was later told of better hotels around this area.

For those who have tight budget, White Orchid Hotel fits the bill. You will enjoy all the basic needs. The spread of the buffet breakfast is good. It is in the heart of Chinatown - right for those who are shopping for bigger quantity, the wholesaler are here. There are 24-hour 7-eleven, Watsons and a bank directly opposite the street. Very convenient if you find the toiletries provided in the hotel not to your liking. As for a good dinner, there is a clean and enclosed restaurant on the right of the side of hotel(about 100-150m away). The only complaint is the stale air in the hotel room that has no window; get a air-freshner if you cannot cope with the smell.

Stayed in the White Orchid hotel a couple of times already. First, the price is fantastic and second, you never have to worry about an empty stomach. Only gripes I have is that the pillows have funny smell and horror of all horrors, there are cockroaches invading the room now. Breakfast at the hotel has never changed over the years. If you look at it positively, if you keep doing the same thing, surely you'll get much better right? Anyway, I love the way they fry the bee hoon and the vegetables. Shouldn't complain much as the price is really good. It's near the railway station, underground train and the riverside boat. You've got a midnight market across the street which also double up as a day market. Stay here if you are watching your budget.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in a DELUXE room,but everything was pretty bad!!!The room was dirty,small and smelled not good.There was no minibar in the room,only an old fridge,The bed was very old,so I get pain after sleep.I will never come again in this hotel!!

Stay 6 nites at White Orchid 7-13Feb 05. Very basic and no frills added. Location is EXCELLENT. Plenty of food stall long road side and restaurant nearby the hotel. I like best the Kuay Chap shop located just diagonally opposite to the right. I had my supper there at 2am ! Watson on the left opens till 12midnite while 7-eleven on the right opens 24hours. Traffic wise is bit heavy. Hotel breakfast is acceptable too. What else you expect for a room that cost as little a night ?

I was 4 nights in the White Orchid hotel in bangkok with my wife in November 2004. The rooms were very dirty. The staff was very unfriendly. Only the breakfast was good. I cannot recommanded the hotel. There are better hotels in Bangkok in this price range.
