Classy
This hotel is extremely polished and stylish, it really does make an impact. The service is also smooth and seemless. My only regret is that I was not staying longer, especially as I did not have time to frequent the wonderful pool area. The gym is very well equiped and spacious.
Wonderful service, highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel!
We loved the Metropolitan. A friend recommended the hotel, and we were not disappointed. The room was gorgeous and the staff helpful and friendly. We had room only, and the breakfast was expensive, but very nice. (There is a lovely bakery next door in the French embassy, which was a cheaper, if less healthy, option!)
Bangkok is great fun, and very busy. This hotel is a calm oasis to retrea to after a day of sightseeing. It is only a 10 minute walk to the sky train, which makes getting around really easy.
I particularly loved the spa, and you can use the pool, whirl pool and steam room anytime.
Go - you will love it!

Excellent value for money
I booked one of the larger luxury rooms and was definitely impressed with the value for money you get at this hotel. Very good location, excellent breakfast, good gym and pool, as well as very good taste in the whole decoration of the hotel. To top it off, extremely friendly and efficient staff.
This was already my second stay here and will definitely be coming back.

luxurious and comfortable
I thought the metropolitan was great. Décor was simple clean and luxurious, the bathroom was generous and also very luxurious! The staff we polite and friendly. The complimentary yoga and pilates classes were great! Wifi was additional and relatively expensive.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets and doona were soft and made you feel like you were snuggled in a cloud!
The phones were a bit old and crackly and difficult to talk on.
I asked for a quiet room but was placed next to the air-conditioning unit so had this noisy running water sound that kept me up. Apart from this disappointment, I enjoyed my stay there. it provided a lovely oasis away from the bustling bangkok streets.

Poor service
we checked in then decided to go for a walk for a few hours. When we returned to the hotel we found our suiet cases still in the loby. When we saw our room it had two small single beds bear in mind there was two adults and one child, so we asked for a king size bed and a put up bed like I originaly booked.

We did not get our rooms cleaned or Change of towels, we also ran out of toilet rolls.

I would go to Bangkok just to...
I would go to Bangkok just to stay at this hotel. Everything was fantastic. I will be going again next year.

The Metropolitan is a lovely hotel -...
The Metropolitan is a lovely hotel - we loved the decor and the service was great. The rooms were comfy and large and the highlight was the really wonderful bathrooms. I would highly recommend staying here.

I decided to give the Met another...
I decided to give the Met another chance after being dissapointed a few times and was very pleasantly surprised by two things. 1) The pool actually gets sun most of the day in the spring and summer (don't stay at the Met in the Fall/Winter if you want to use the pool as the sun hides behind the hotel most of the day. 2) The front desk staff and spa staff we much more helpful/friendly than in previous visits time. What still hampers this hotel: the front door/porter staff. They are the first impression you get when you arrive and every time you come back, but they are, in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel staff, essentially useless and decidedly unfriendly when not being observed by management. Once time I came back to the hotel and the general manager was in the lobby and the door staff couldn't be more smiley and ask how my day was and would i like a water. But without the manager it was like going into a store where the salespeople just don't care. As everyone knows the occupancy rate at the Met is extremely low, so you couldn't wish for a better rate and you should definitely take advantage of it, because once (if) the rate ever goes back up- its probably not worth it.
