simple but good enough
Chinatown Hotel is located right at Bangkok Chinatown and is was access to all the food and shops which are just meters away.
it is also easy to the train station and subway. which is one of the reason we stay here, and travel to Central world, Erawan. And from here we travel to Chiang Mai by train.
Not a fancy hotel, its is a bit old
Staff at this hotel are very helpful, attentive and friendly.
The room is simple but has what a traveler need, except you need to bring your own toothbrush ..

Very disappointing - crappy old wallpaper and furnishings, TV didn't work, bathroom okay, didn't even include free tea/coffee. Breakfast okay. Location was handy. Service was good.

I had no problems here,but only stay here if you want to be in Chinatown.Staff were friendly,but it is not a great location for Bangkok Station as it seems.

The only reason we stayed here is...
The only reason we stayed here is because of its proximity to the train station (even though it's close it's still not within walking distance to the station with your luggage) and it was cheap.
We arrived pretty late at 1am in the morning and there's no problem with the check-in. The guy at the counter spoke English and Mandarin.
The air-con in the room was noisy so the guy who took us to our room helped us fixed it. He didn't leave until the noise was fixed. So service wise it's pretty good.
The room is old, smelled like smoke. My pj's smelled like smoke the next day. There were burnt marks on the carpet, the sink was kind of plugged - drained extremely slowly, so by the time you finished brushing your teeth, the sink will be pretty much full.
Basically you get what you pay for.
