Ban Sabai is a spa resort tucked on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The accommodation is wonderful, all wooden with an outdoor shower. The food at breakfast was good although I think there could be more choices available. The spa uses whole foods only so you feel healthy after a meal! The swimming pool is freezing but the surrounding pool area is very relaxing. The gym is well equipped and air conditioned. The grounds are lovely with all the flowers and plants. I have to say it gets quite noisy in the morning with the birds outside and there also seems to be a tree felling plant not far away which starts at ridiculous o'clock
There is no bar, but the staff will get you a beer from the restaurant in the evenings The taxi ride into the city costs 200baht each way
Overall it is a lovely place to stay and relax and get away from the stresses of everyday life, it does various spa treatments but they are expensive compared to those offered in the city I would reccommend it and return again.

The Ban Sabai is heaven on earth....
The Ban Sabai is heaven on earth. The gardens are absolutely magnificent. The room was beautiful and very spacious. The restaurant prices were very reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful. It's a little bit out of Chiang Mai, but this added to the tranquility of the resort. We're coming back next year and we can't wait.

Landscaping of the resort and rooms are really nice. However, there is no difference between getting a standard room and a villa (which costs so much more) unless you want to do spa treatments below your villa in privacy. The charges for the steam room or sauna are ridiculous at 500Bht per person! Very misleading as they said the villa came with these facilities.

I had a wonderful stay at the Ban Sabai Spa Village! The facilty and staff were fantastic and the spa services were well worth the visit. The only downside is that the location is outside of Chaing Mai itself, but getting a taxi is easy and should run only 150-200 Baht to get to town.
