Great relaxing resort
The Baan Saen Doi Resort is a wonderful place for a stay in the neighborhood of Chiang Mai. The resort, located in a compound with luxury houses, is relatively small and peaceful, decorated with beautiful art: and very tasteful architecture with love for culture and environment. The facilities like Spa, swimming pool, fitness area and tennis courts, are located at a distance of a few hundred meters from the resort. These facilities can also be used by the people of the compound, but it is our experience that it is never busy.
Breakfast (with a personal touch) is located in the resort and the restaurant is located next to the other facilities. The food in the restaurant is very good and relatively cheap. It by far the best restaurant we have experienced in Chiang Mai.
Some points of attention: the location is rather isolated, and a rental car can be therefore very convenient. The resort does not provide tennis rackets, so if you want to play, you have to bring your own.

My husband and I stayed there just...
My husband and I stayed there just for one night before leaving Chiang Mai for Bangkok after staying at another hotel by the old city for 3 nights. it proved to be a good choice and good value for money. It is really a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is an ideal place if you want to be in retreat, enjoy the quiet and get refreshed and relaxed. It is 20 minutes away from the old city and just 10 minutes from the airport. The service was excellent. The staff allowed us to check out late at 3p.m. instead of 12.00 noon when they knew that our flight's departure time was around 7p.m. the next day. This enabled us to sunbathe by the pool for the whole morning and then enjoy a Thai massage before checking out. The free transfer to the airport was also well arranged for us. The hotel itself consists of 3 separate buildings: a complex with 8 suites/rooms, another one with the spa and 3 suites and a club house. The suite that we had was the best room we had ever had. It was so spacious, cozy and stylishly decorated. There was even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Breakfast was also good. We had 2 other meals at the restaurant of the club house. The atmosphere, service and food were excellent. Also, it was inexpensive. It was not more expensive than the restaurants that we had tried at the old city and the night bazaar. During dinner, we had a chance to chat with the German owner, who was so nice. There is nothing to criticise. WE highly recommend it.

Very nice place if you want something...
Very nice place if you want something out of town. The perfect place for some quiet time away from the crowds. Excellent service, and special thanks to Ms Tatsanee Chaima who was very professional and helpful. Special thanks also to their recommended limo and guide/chauffeur Mr DJ, great service indeed!

Great place to get away from it...
Great place to get away from it all. Near enough to Night Safari and delicious local restaurant called Huen Penh. Wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable English speaking and discreet staff. Great breakfast! Quiet, but plenty of books and magazines to keep you occupied. Reasonable on site restaurant. Excellent exterior and interior architecture and design that kept us enthralled. Recommend staying here for a few days, before moving onto the hustle and bustle of the town.

I can not say enough good things...
I can not say enough good things about this resort - Talk about a little peace of paradise - If you want rest, relaxation & pampering in absolutely gorgeous surroundings then this is the place for you. The rooms including the bathroom are exceptionally spacious. Everything & I mean everything was excellent. As for the staff - they were some of the best we have met - they were courteous, spoke good English & were very helpful & nothing was too much trouble for them.

Beautiful, small hotel with a "bed and...
Beautiful, small hotel with a "bed and breakfast" intimate feel. The design fuses traditional Thai architectural elements and materials with a very modern and contemporary feel. The decor is extremely tasteful and well done. Very pleasant with a nice restaurant across the street and a spa.
