Everything was quite lovely except for the room location. We got the valley deluxe which was actually a view of a bamboo fence. I think there were plenty of rooms available as there were very few guests. I should have expressed myself disappointment and asked to be moved but didnt.
I was amazed at the number of places you could go to sit and relax. I think even if it were quite full it seems it is designed to still allow you to feel secluded and enjoy privacy and peace. It is a beautiful setting and very well maintained.
For those who enjoy a bath, the bath is deep and sizeable and the water is hot if desired.

Our room was upgraded which was very nice of the hotel. I think since it was a low season, it was easier for them. You will enjoy amazingly nice view, surrounding area, and hotel ground. It's really one of a kind. Hotel is in a very remote area and because of that, you would need to pay more for taxi service but again, it's very quite and secluded. When you wake up, you will hear many different birds and monkies. Staffs are very nice and friendly but front desk and night restaurant staff sometimes felt too business like. No free internet in the room which was pretty inconvenient. Restaurant and spa were pretty good but they were pretty pricy as well. There wasn't other choice around the hotel so we ate at the hotel every night and we(2adults&3kids) spent about 1500bht per meal for dinner. Save taxi drivers business card and use their service instead of hotel when you travel far. It takes about 1 hour to the airport.

Panwiman is one of the most wonderful and relaxing hotels we have ever visited. The resort and the views are simply astonishing. The pool area and the superb spa are even more beautiful than the pictures show. The restaurant serves a very good a la carte breakfast and the food is overall tasty and good. All this combined to the fact, that the staff is very helpfull and polite, adds up to a very good value for money.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom pool villa and it was amazing. Totally private, beautiful views and the pool even had it's own small waterfall over the side of the infinity edge - you couldn't see the waterfall from the room but the sound was very relaxing. This hotel is much further into the hills than other top quality hotels in the area and the result is a sense of undisturbed peace and nature both during the day and at night - the stars are also very beautiful and bright due to the lack of light pollution. From a perspective of beauty and relaxation this hotel can compete with any of the major 5 star international brands, and at a much reduced cost. If however you are looking for 5 star food and a wine list to match, then you may be disappointed - the food is good but does not match the quality of the rest of the hotel and the wine list is very limited.

Panviman is amazing! We will almost certainly be back IF you replace your former yoga master with someone at least 1/2 as good - we would otherwise not have chosen this resort. Among other things, he correlated communication with the ladies in the spa which would otherwise have been very frustrating.

The Resort is wonderful; good landscape, nice view, lots of recreational facilities, clean room, good food and friendly staff. A good place for rest and relaxation. Though the Resort is about 45 minutes away from the city it is still worth the efforts to travel that distance. My only complaint is that the prices for food and massage/spa are not cheap compared to those in the city.

The Hotel and facilities were excellent.
Just be careful with the location as the Asia Rooms website says that this Hotel is in the center of the city a few miles from Chaing Mai airport.
It is more than 50 Kms from Chaing Mai and a good 60 to 90 minutes drive from the airport.
The location itself is good as it is in the mountains with good attractions nearby but just dont expect to be anywhere near Chaing Mai city itself.
