Stayed for three nights. First impressions were amazing. Open air front desk reception, our hostess spoke flawless English, the room was amazing, modern and immaculate and in the perfect location. There are only three or four resorts on this secluded beach bay including the impressive looking Pimilae and we were certainly glad to be off the beaten track. The room had a large deck/open air foyer? with a built-in wall couch, chair and a hammock you could string across as well. The pool was very nice and everything is set to be modern and elegant. Exactly what we were hoping for in a beach paradise.
The exterior does not do the place justice, the rooms were the best we had on our trip and I would say compared well with similar offerings at any major Park Hyatt. We ate on several occasions at the adjacent Baan Lanta Beach Bar in front of an exceptional dive shop (Scubafish) before we realized that dinners were included in our stay.
The one dinner we did enjoy was the best of our 28-day cross Thailand trip. Virtually a gourmet served in four courses; kicking myself for missing the two prior nights here.
Hot Tip: The folks at Scubafish (dive shop) are great as are the bartenders and staff at the adjacent Baan Lanta.. Definitely recommend hiking up to the Viewpoint Bar behind Baan Lanta for the best sunset in Koh Lanta. Budget travellers would do better off at the adjacent Baan Lanta which is next door and shares the great semi-secluded setting.
