An absolutely ideal location on Chaweng beach.The facilities on the beach(sun chairs and umbrellas) were very good as they also were at the pool.Bar service was good as was breakfast and lunch.We never dined there in the evening however there were a variety theme nights.
Reception was friendly and efficient and we were given our room early with no problem even though we checked in 4 hours before check in time.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.The hotel is well located and a short stroll to the shops and restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

The Banana Fan Sea Hotel is very warm and hospitable. Staff is friendly and lovely with children :)
Gardens are beautiful + well taken care off, and the beach is clean and not too crowded.
Food at hotels' Baitong restaurant is most delicious and there are fun theme nights to enjoy music and shows!
My family and I visited the resort 2-15.5.2009.
We have three boys (ages 3, 4, 9).
Our family truely fell inlove with Koh Samui and Banana Fan Sea Hotel! THANKYOU!

I have stayed many times at the Banana Fan Sea, so I knew what to expect this time. This hotel offers (in my opinion) the best value on Chaweng Beach. Although this time I did notice they had increased their room prices quite alot. But I understand that some of the price increase will be due to the weak pound at the moment. ALL in all it was another lovely stay.

I am a Travel Agent in Australia and would highly recommend the Banana Fan Sea Resort to any of my clients. I am only suprised that the hotel is relatively unknown in Australia as far as booking through most wholesale operators. It was beautiful, beach and pool aspect fantastic. Service terrific!! Had stayed in Bangkok and Phuket prior to this and the service was no where near as good as at the Banana Fan Sea. I had a look at the other room types in order to be able to offer all room types to my clients.

On arrival I greeted by my name.....nice touch. My friend and I were then given a cold towel and a lovely glass of juice.
We were taken to our roomn which was spacious and clean.
Being female I struggled with the lack of light both in the bathroom and bedroom. I felt like I was showering in the dark.
The facilities were very limited. There was a pool and the waiter service to support it.
Cooking classes were available but at an additional cost.
There were shows on certain evenings which were entertaining.
As the hotel is centrally located we could hear the music from a nightclub till about 3am. This could also have been due to the fact that the room was at front of the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to parties looking for a tranquil peaceful holiday.
It is great for those who want to party all night long. It is also an ideal location for access to the shops, restaurants, bars etc.
You will not need a taxi as everything you need is accessible by foot.
The beach was easy access and again supported with a waiter service.
If you want to be at the heart of it all this is the ideal Hotel. If you want peace and quite pick something in the mountains or at least a 5 min drive away from chaweng Beach.

I had a great experience at the Banana Fan, I was so pleased when I got to the resort and was showed to my room, the room was so clean and tidy and I knew I would have a pleasant stay.
The service was outstanding as whenever I needed something to my room that were at the door within minutes.
I will be back to the resort in the near future and I will also recommend it to friends and family.

I searched the web looking for a top location place with great facilities. I read all the reviews. I am normally a bit skeptical, but the Banana Fan Sea exceeded expectation, and met or surpassed all the positive reviews I read. There is absolutely nothing to fault in the quality of the rooms, the facilities and the location. Quiet bungalows, the best piece of the beach right at your doorstep. the pool and location next to the restaurant was spot on. This trip round we stayed in a number of places throughout thailand...this one wins hands down. Oh, almost forgot, the breakfasts and staff were tops. The prices were right and the tranquility after stepping off the main road was wonderful. Richard and Maree

A very pleasant stay. Rooms are of a generous size for asian accommodation and very quiet, we rarely heard neighbouring guests in adjacent rooms. Cleaning service - very good.
Pool and beach are beside each other, and provide a very relaxing environment. Beach is very clean, and water crystal clear.
Predominately european guests, not many Aussies, which did not bother us.
Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.
Would stay here again.
