We stayed at this Hotel many times...
We stayed at this Hotel many times during our business trips and the service was excellent as before since the Hotel opened. Free wireless in the lobby and a free internet line on a PC add to the attractiveness of the Hotel. Location is a big plus on the bank of the river, vs. the busy traffic around the other hotels. will definitely go back.

It is difficult to know where to start, since the dispointments were so numerous at this hotel.
Yes, it is advertised as a 4 star hotel, but in my opinion, it is not even a 2 star.
We booked a suite, which was supposed to be nicer than standard room : we got a old dirty room : there were stains on the carpet, on the sofas, the wardrobes looked old and dirty, we felt so bad we did not want to spend time in the room...
On the food site, do not expect a lot in terms of european food : it's just toast and pancakes, everything else is thai...
Concerning the staff, there were just the most arrogant and unhelpful i have ever seen. Usually, when we arrive in hotels in thailand, staff at front desk is pleasant, smiling, and speaks at least a little english. Here it appears they are not accustomed at all to tourists : 1. It seemed as if we were disturbing them when we arrived and asked for our room. They didn not understand a thing to what we were asking (information about the surroundings and things to visit) and it was almost impossible to communicate with them, even by gestures.
The worst was yet to come : as we checked out in the morning at 8 (the room had to be freed before noon) and we were planning all day excursion, we asked for a spare room when we came back in the afternoon, to be able to take a shower before leaving. They won't let us use the shower, unless we were paying 500 bath per person... Then we asked the front desk assistant to help us confirm our flight reservation for the night, and they refused to do so : they handed us a number for us to call, though we don't speak thai...
As i got angry and started to say it was their job to help us, they pretend they would not hear us anymore and were blatently resentful to help. We finally managed to get by thanks to the help of a thai tourist guide, who happened to be around and who helped us make the call on her own cell phone.
lastly, when we wanted to leave the hotel and needed a taxi, they won't call any taxi and we had to go on our own to the station to catch one.
All in all, this is a very bad hotel, very poor quality, poor staff, and to international standard, not even worth a 2 star hotel. Avoid it as hell.

Our second stay her within a year. Still great service, friendly staff, clean rooms and speedy check-in and out procedure. Big plus is that this hotel offers wireless internet access for free +++ Great location next to the river and the night market.

Grand Riverside is located just 200m. from train station. Good place from which visit Sukothai, one of Thai's pearls not so explored. It is the 3 stars standard hotel in Europe. Staff do not speak much English but my wife and me enjoyed the night spent there in a really and pleasant Thai's environment. Very good value for money.

Very nice hotel and a quiet location...
Very nice hotel and a quiet location on the west side of the river. This hotel had some of the friendliest staff we had met on our travels through Thailand. The location is great if you don't want the busy location and the traffic on the east side of the river. They seemed to be un-spoiled from the tourist masses which was very nice. We will definitely go back.
