Royal Phuket City Hotel

My husband and I stayed for 1 night at the Royal Phuket City Hotel, and found it a great placae to stay. We had a room on the 14th floor, terrific views, clean room, and really good breakfast on the 19th floor. The hotel is close to the bus station, markets, shopping centres, and interesting walking areas. Good value for money and a top spot to stay in Phuket Town. We had been staying on Phi Phi Island, and wanted a place to chill out for a day in between catching the ferry from Phi Phi and our flight home to Australia. Would recommend this hotel - friendly staff, and nice pool.

Run down Hotel

Checked in for a 3 nights stay and the first unpleasant experience was the need to deposite 500 Baht in cash. The room was big but found the carpet and furnishing look and feel dated. The toilet was the biggest diappointment. The bath tub was worn and peeling. Later in the night found the toilet crawling with small cockroaches and a big one in the bath tub. The hot water was miserable, no hot water even when fully opened. There was also no disposable toothbrush. The aircon was loud and ineffective. The charge for internet usage was 200 bahts. Checked out after 2 nights. This hotel need to be re-rated and is in need of serious renovation.

The buffet breakfeast was lovely. I enjoyed the hotel because it was well airconditioned and a pleasant haven from the heat and crowds.Having tea making facilities and a fridge was one reason for my choice. I stayed in Phuket Town because the cost of the accommodation at the beach resorts was far too expensive for me. Staying in town also allowed me to visit different beaches each day.

We are very happy with the stay...

We are very happy with the stay at Royal City Hotel. The room was clean and considerably large for an extra bed. It is situated near to bus terminals and shopping amenities. I will recommend friends to stay there.

Nice hotel and view... away from the...

Nice hotel and view... away from the beaches but alot of excitement in the town where alot of holiday makers ended up exploring than the beach. Awesome stay and awesome tours especially the elephant show/rides etc. Friendly staff.... willing to please.

If like us you need to stay...

If like us you need to stay one night on Phuket before leaving for another island this is a great hotel. Just outside the meain town centre but only 10 minute walk (max) Beakfast was ok .The decoration was very tired in places - not all the hotel looks as good as the lobby. In our bathroom although everything ok all the grouting around the tiles was very dirty BUT for the money and just one night good bet
