Nice guesthouse, i enjoyed staying there.

Rooms are made in old thai lanna style, with wooden doors and windows.
Really good experience to stay there. Hotel territory is nicely decorated in thai style too.
In my room there was a small leak in the sink in bathroom.

Very good hotel
I recommend this hotel, very good value for money. The staff is fantastic for helping you to go everywhere. All transportations to go nearby the hotel are free? Pick up from bus terminal is free: excellent service indeed!

Service was incredible, staff extremely friendly and very helpful, very nice pool and rooms. Just the perfect stay! We only had one regret: we did not stay long enough!

Honeymoon
My new wife and I stayed at the hotel only for the one night to see the Loy Krathong Festival in Sukhothai. The room and the service were excellent and cannot fault this but we had problems parking as very limited space. The staff were very good as they came out and moved vehicles to find space for us. I would like to have stayed longer but we had a schedule to keep and I would have liked to have tried the massage they gave. Lovely hotel and with the evening at the Festival made this a special night for us to remember as our first night of being married.

A question of windows
Ruean Thai is a beautifully set up hotel with lovely and helpful staff. The layout of the buildings is attractive and the room was very comfortable (although the inclusion of a urinal in the bathroom was a bit strange).
The pool is also beautifully set out and a welcome relief after a day cycling around the old city.
There were, however, two problems with the hotel.
One of the things that attracted us to the place was its claim to be a made along traditional Thai teak house lines. As it turns out, traditional Thai windows do not have glass and they do not have insect screens. You have a choice of opening your room to the heat and insects, or foregoing natural light to enjoy the air conditioning and a bug free existence.
The buffet breakfast was also disappointing. The toast was fine but the rest of the food (eggs, ham, fried rice etc) was stone cold - the bain maries did not appear to be lit and it looked like the same batch of food had been sitting there all morning (I'm a late riser when on holidays). If you want a hot breakfast, make sure you're there soon after the buffet opens.
